Kalimantan | Black Rattan Table Lamp · 39 cm
The Soul of the Piece
Some objects are sculptures when off and atmosphere when on.
This piece embodies that dual nature: by day, a graphic weave that outlines space; by night, a tapestry of golden light contained within dark lines.
Designed with a philosophy of patience and handmade craftsmanship, its organic, teardrop silhouette embraces illumination.
A piece for those who understand that calm can also have character.
The essence of Kalimantan
Origin
Named after the heart of Borneo: the Kalimantan jungles, where rattan grows most vigorously in the world. In this version, the fiber takes on a nocturnal guise—ancestral weaving brought to its most contemporary expression.
Material
Natural Indonesian rattan body in black finish. A plant fiber selected for its flexibility and natural resistance, whose deep tone transforms the weave into pure graphic line.
Design and texture
Patiently molded using traditional hand-weaving techniques. In its black version, the three-dimensional relief of crossed threads achieves its most graphic expression: when off, the weave reads as a drawing in the air; when on, it inverts, and light draws the pattern from within.
Tone
At rest, the black transforms the lamp into a sculptural silhouette of maximum contrast, capable of holding its own in a minimalist corner. When lit, the weave is outlined in golden light against the dark pattern—the most sophisticated effect in the collection.
Atmosphere
Its open design diffuses a 360-degree ambient glow, yet contained, edited: the light does not invade, it appears. It is the lighting of the end of the day, when space retracts and only the essential remains.
Where it finds its place
Its graphic character makes it a protagonist in contemporary interiors: on the study console, on the side table in a clean-lined living room, or as a dark counterpoint in an environment of off-white tones and light wood.
Authenticity
The identity of this piece lies in its manufacturing process. Being a natural plant fiber, each piece presents subtle variations in its tone and weave, confirming that each lamp is unique and unrepeatable.
STYLES AND AFFINITY
Its contrast and containment make it the Japandi and Wabi-sabi version of the collection; it also elevates contemporary interiors and Warm Minimalism proposals seeking a touch of depth.
